Zopec VOYAGE Universal Smart Battery: In-Depth Review

If you’re looking for a battery to power your CPAP when you’re away from home, the Zopec VOYAGE Universal Smart battery is your answer. 

This fast-charging lithium battery is compatible with all CPAP machines (5V/9V/12V/15V/24V) so you don’t have to worry about getting the “wrong” battery. 

No more trying to figure out if your machine is 12V or 24V – the Zopec VOYAGE works with them all. If that’s not exciting enough, the Zopec VOYAGE does not require any adapter cables to connect to your machine. Just plug your machine’s AC power adapter into the AC outlet in the battery and you are good to go. 

The Zopec VOYAGE uses PD 45W Smart USB-C technology for super fast charging. The recharge time is less than 4 hrs, and the wall charger is 100-240V, so you don’t have to worry about compatibility when traveling internationally.

A fully charged VOYAGE battery can run for 12 hours on the ResMed AirSense 10 at a pressure of 10 cm H2O. This is with the humidifier and heated tubing turned off. If you have the humidifier on, expect the runtime to decrease by 50%. If you have the humidifier and the heated tubing on, your battery will only last a quarter of the reported runtime. 

Similarly, if you’re using an autoCPAP, expect the battery run time to decrease, as well. Zopec recommends testing the VOYAGE smart battery runtime on your exact settings before going on your travels. 

A tip for those with CPAP machines that have an auto-off feature: you can keep your machine running if you plug the end of the hose partially with a paper towel. This minimizes leaks so your machine won’t turn off. 

Now let’s talk size. The VOYAGE Smart battery is 7.25″ x 5″ x 1.75″ and weighs 2 lbs. This makes it roughly twice as tall as the Medistrom Pilot-Lite 12V/24V batteries and just a bit wider and longer. 

It is also slightly heavier than the Pilot-Lite battery’s 1.3 lbs. Really not much of a difference between the two in terms of size if you’re going on a trip, but understandably some people will want a thinner and lighter battery. 

The VOYAGE smart battery is wonderful for those who want the CPAP machine and battery connection simplified. No cables, no extra parts, no need to worry about compatibility, and one full charge lasts 2 nights.
